New York Yankees are having a tough time in the ongoing MLB season. Even a few crucial umpiring decisions have been going against them, and the recent Yankees v/s Twins game is the best example of it.

If there is one team that the Pinstripes have dominated for over a decade, it is the Minnesota Twins. Yes! The Twins have the worst record against The Bronx Bombers in the last 15 years. Even in the recently concluded four-game series, the Yankees dominated the Twins throughout the series.

However, during the last game of the series, the umpire made a controversial decision that may or may not have been the reason for the Yankees’ defeat. Even the Yankees skipper Aaron Boone was furious with the poor umpiring during the game.

The Yankees end the series with a close defeat to the Twins

After losing a couple of series against the LA Angels and Tampa Bay Rays, the Yankees came, all guns blazing against the Twins. Be it from the plate or the mound, the Pinstripes had an excellent series.

With Aaron Judge and Gleyber Torres leading from the plate and Gerrit Cole leading from the mound, the Yankees were nearly unbeatable against the Twins. Talking about umpiring, when a Twins batter tried to reach the base, the Yankees’ fielder already had the ball in his hand. And from the visuals, it looked like an out.

But even after a review, the on-field umpire called the Twins runner safe. And after watching this, Bonne could not control his emotions. Taking to Twitter, Talkin’ Yanks shared the video and captioned it, “clearly out and is still called safe after review and Boone can’t believe it.”

With this defeat against the Twins, the Aaron Boone-led team has only a 4.5-game lead against their division rivals, the Rays. Not to forget their next series is against the same Rays. And they will do everything to dethrone the Yanks from the top.

Notably, the Rays have played comparatively better games than the Yankees after the All-Star break. If things do not go north for the Pinstripes, then it will not be long before the Rays would take over the Yankees at the top.
