The much anticipated Invitational, hosted by Derek Jeter and sister Sharlee Jeter, through the Turn2Foundation is finally here, and through various social media glimpses of the event, it is as extravagant as expected.
The Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament, one of the foundation’s major events, is being organized by the former Yankee in pairing with Sharlee Jeter, who serves as Turn 2’s President. Various stars from different realms like business, sports, and entertainment are invited to participate in the golf course. And last evening, as the opening party concluded, Derek Jeter officially announced the beginning of the invitational.

Jeter’s invitational features various stars including the likes of DJ D-Nice, writer Angie Martinez, Rob Gronkowski, CC Sabathia, and Joey Fatone, among various other superstars.

The former Yankee captioned a post on Instagram featuring various stars saying, “We are underway at #DJI2023! Thank you to everyone for your continued support of @jeterturn2. Looking forward to a great weekend!”
Among the many stars who commented on this post, frenemy Alex Rodriguez commented too. However, A-Rod wasn’t present at the invitational.
In a welcome video shared by Derek and Sharlee on the org’s Instagram handle, Derek expressed his excitement ahead of the weekend while being rather witty. He said, “We’re at the welcome party tonight and we’re looking forward to a great few days of golf. I’m actually looking forward to seeing how bad everyone is. But then we have our gala coming up on Saturday, so looking forward to that.”
When did Derek Jeter start Turn2?

Derek Jeter and his father, Dr. Charles Jeter, established the Turn 2 Foundation in 1996 when Jeter had just entered the New York Yankees setup. The foundation’s aim was to inspire young individuals to adopt healthy lifestyles by avoiding drugs and alcohol and to “Turn 2” healthier alternatives.

In 2010, Sharlee Jeter took over control of the foundation and has since then carried the Foundation to brand new heights. Sharlee’s team consists of Derek, who’s the chairman of the company, her father, who’s the vice-chairman, and her mother Dorothy, who’s the treasurer.
