The New York Yankees seem to struggling. With their captain possibly on the injury list, things are not looking good for the Bronx team. In what many called an embarrassing loss, the Bronx team gave up a recent victory to the Texas Rangers. In addition to the absent Aaron Judge, the team has also been deciding what to do with Franchy Cordero. Who, interestingly, previously played for the Yankees’ sworn rivals the Boston Red Sox.

After starting the MLB season with the Yankees, manager Aaron Boone decided to send him back to Triple-A. Cordero’s recent performance could certainly use more highs than lows after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts at the latest game. Just a few days ago, Boone announced that the 28-year-old might play in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. But according to a new report, he may be coming back.

Franchy Cordero is set to return to MLB with the New York Yankees

The news was first announced by Greg Joyce, a reporter for The New York Post. After a turbulent time at the last few games, Cordero was all set to get some time off from MLB. “Probably chasing a little bit, little in between on breaking ball and fastball. Comes down to getting that timing. We know he can impact the ball, but he’s gotta do it more frequently,” Boone said before announcing the Triple-A move.

But now, the outfielder is apparently coming back to the major leagues. Given his previous departure as well as Judge’s injury, Jack Bauers was set to be on the roster instead. He went into the Friday game with batting .319 with a 1.271 OPS. But while it looks like he will continue on the roster for now, the Dominican outfielder will also join him.

Being in the front office of a baseball team is not easy for anyone. But one would imagine it’s especially hard for the New York Yankees because their fans are loyal to a tee. Over the years that Brian Cashman has been general manager, fans have given him a hard time.

With Cordero’s move, they are back at it.
