Per MLB schedule, the Pinstripes are off on a couple of days, July 4th and 5th. But the Yankees slugger DJ LeMahieu is unhappy with the day-offs, especially on the 4th of July. Notably, the 4th of July is a special day in America. It is an annual celebration of nationhood and independence for the United States of America.

Even though the Yankees have got a much-needed day off after playing 20 games in 20 days, LeMahieu did not want to rest on the 4th of July. Currently, the Yankees are on a winning spree. Under the guidance of their manager Aaron Boone and star player Aaron Judge, the Pinstripes have defied all odds in the current MLB season.

DJ LeMahieu wants to play on the 4th of July

After a four-game series against the Cleveland Guardians, the Yankees will try to finish the first half of the 2022 season on a high, as there are only 12 games left to play in the first half of the 2022 MLB season.

“It’s weird,’’ DJ LeMahieu said of not having a game on the holiday. “It feels like we should be playing. You’re supposed to play on the Fourth of July. I was very surprised when I saw the schedule.”

However, when LeMahieu got to know that the Yankees have not taken an off day in the last 20 days, he complained little. “I’ll take the off day.”

As of now, The Bronx Bombers have done everything right in the current season. And for this, a lot of credit should go to the Pinstripes manager, Aaron Boone. Because everyone believed the Yanks did not have a great free agency.
