About his reunion with Marisa, Derek wrote in his book, “When the Yankees go to Chicago to play the White Sox, we try to hook up for lunch. It’s refreshing to be around her because we can discuss everything except baseball.”

It seems like Marisa was, or maybe still is, a great friend of Derek’s. Even so, he could not talk to her about the game that always remained his priority.
