When Former NY Yankees Captain Derek Jeter Nailed His Cameo in an American Sitcom: ‘We Won the World Series’

Derek Jeter has been an absolute legend of the game. Considering his impeccable career record, the former New York Yankees captain is probably the greatest MLB player of the 21st century. Right from the start of his professional career, Jeter has been a loyal servant of the game.

With a career that spanned over two decades, Jeter is one of the few MLB players to have the privilege of calling themselves a one-team man. Notably, he has played only for the New York Yankees.

Though Jeter was a great professional of the game, he also had a wonderful presence of mind. He knows how to handle things on the spot. This incident dates back to the 1990s when Derek Jeter was still a youngster. Many people might not know, but the Yankees legend also played a cameo in the then-famous American sitcom, Seinfeld. And the Hall of Famer aced his role.

Derek Jeter bested George Costanza in Seinfeld

Known for his seriousness in the ballparks, Derek Jeter had good humor. Per a video going viral on YouTube, Derek Jeter and Bernie Williams played a cameo in the iconic sitcom show, Seinfeld.

In the video, one can see George Costanza (one character from Seinfeld) giving batting tips to World Series winners Derek Jeter and Bernie Williams. Little did Costanza know that Jeter and Williams were coming off winning the World Series.

When Costanza hit a home run and tried to teach Jeter, he simply had the best answer. Jeter said, “We won the World Series.”

The video also confirms that Jeter was not a big fan of the show, as he had not seen many episodes of Seinfeld.

Having played for the best team for over 20 years, Jeter won everything in his professional career. He led the Yankees to win five World Series titles. It has been over eight years since he bid farewell to the game. And the Yankees are yet to fill his void.
