Now, heading into the 2025 season, the hype around Misiorowski only grew. Baseball America ranked him as the Brewers’ No. 3 prospect. And when he finally got the call-up, the anticipation was sky-high. So, making his debut against the Cardinals, he didn’t just meet expectations, he blew them away. Misiorowski pitched five no-hit innings, becoming just the ninth pitcher since 1901 to toss at least five no-hit frames in their MLB debut!
What’s even more eye-popping is what Jacob Misiorowski did in his second start, this time against the Twins. On Friday night, he was sitting at 100–101 mph throughout the outing and averaging 100.4 mph on his fastball. And it’s not just the heater that’s turning heads. Misiorowski’s 95–96 mph slider is unlike anything the game has seen.
Misiorowski on the mound: A hit 2025 season so far
Yes, you can call it a hit season for Misiorowski. He just kicked off his MLB career last month, and he’s already making serious waves. For the unversed, in an incredible start, he threw 11 straight no-hit innings, more than any other starting pitcher has managed at the beginning of their career since way back in 1900. Over his first five starts with the Brewers, he’s put together a 4–1 record with a 2.81 ERA, and that’s pretty impressive for a rookie.
Misiorowski made his debut on June 12, 2025, and wasted no time grabbing attention. Facing the Cardinals, he fired five no-hit innings, lighting up the radar gun before leaving early with leg cramps. Then, in his next outing, he one-upped himself with six more hitless innings against the Twins. That 11-inning streak set a modern-era MLB record.
However, what really sets him apart, though, is the heat he brings. Misiorowski is averaging 99.3 mph on his fastball, and he’s already thrown 89 pitches that hit 100 mph or more. That kind of power, combined with his early success, has made him one of the most exciting young arms in the game right now.

All-star appearance and the controversy around it: Is it genuine?
Well, Jacob Misiorowski’s selection to the 2025 MLB All-Star Game has ignited controversy across the league, with many questioning whether a pitcher with just five major league starts and under 26 innings pitched deserves such an honor. So yeah, his rapid rise broke the record for the least experienced player ever named to an All-Star Game, surpassing even Paul Skenes’ previous record of 11 games. While his numbers are promising, critics argue the sample size is simply too small to justify his inclusion.
Moreover, the backlash intensified due to perceived snubs of more established players. This includes Phillies pitchers Christopher Sanchez (7–2, 2.59 ERA in 107 ⅔ innings) and Ranger Suarez (1.94 ERA in 83 ⅔ innings). On the other hand, some defended the decision. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, who is managing the NL team, emphasized that the All-Star Game is ultimately about the fans and entertainment. He argued that Misiorowski’s ability to throw over 100 mph brings excitement to the game.
So, amid all these debates, we think All-Star was always about a clash of the best in the league, and that definition of best is subjective. In terms of best in 2025, Misiorowski can be included, but then what about the names that offered better figures than his? On the other hand, All-Star is also for the fans who want to witness the most hyped stars under one roof. Then again, Misiorowski is eligible. But the history of legacy players starring in the All-Star game is getting diluted.
