What did Derek Jeter say about not being able to fill a void?

Being known as one of the most acclaimed captains in the Yankees’ history, Jeter became the face of modern baseball. The overwhelming nature of life as a sportsperson, however, did not give the baseball great enough time to enjoy every award he achieved, every record he broke.

While talking about a void of his life, the Hall of Famer said in his docuseries, “You know, my parents always talked about enjoying life, enjoying the moment. But I had a real tough time enjoying the moment because I just thought about what’s next, and it’s been that way for as long as I can remember. What’s next?”

This question has seemingly etched itself in Jeter’s mind. While achieving almost everything that came in front of him, the iconic Derek Jeter left a mark on millions of his fans that no other player would probably be able to replace. 

What did Jeter do after retiring?

After giving up the game he loved from the core, Jeter could not bring himself to pick up the baseball bat again. So, he focused on creating his family, tried his hand at golf, and invested time and money in a few business ventures. He also revealed how his focus was to calm down the voices in his head from Yankee Stadium, with fans still cheering for him.

The once iconic shortstop Derek Jeter, however, eventually returned to the Yankee stadium. And then he held a baseball for the first time in eight years. It happened on Derek Jeter’s Day last year when he threw a first pitch to a Yankees game.
