From doing squats last season to being a support to the team with 8 weeks after his UCL reconstruction, the 2023 AL Cy Young winner keeps coming back to the headlines. And while he works as the secret sauce for the New York Yankees, this time, it’s Gerrit Cole’s cute little companions that stole the spotlight. Well, how can fans resist themselves!!!
Even though Cole is not in his Pinstripes, his sons are. And that one Instagram post went viral to have the entire community go awww…
Talkin Yanks posted a screenshot on their official Insta handle: “Both Cole kids are in full uni tonight.” The original post came from @yankeesgoddes, with the caption: “Look at the Cole boys representing at the game,” followed by the emotional heartwarming emoticon. And who else can capture such a cute moment than their mother, Amy Cole (Crawford).

You can clearly feel the enthusiasm of Caden and Everett by checking this post out. Probably, this post is just what the Yankee nation needed ahead of their arrival at the Angel Stadium.
While Gerrit Cole’s injury became a crisis for the NYY, he’s always making sure to be there for the team. Reportedly, Cole even said that “… now that I’m stronger and less worried about getting bumped and things like that, it’s nice to be able to be back and be able to come around more and be in the dugout.”
So, be it orchestrating the pitches, giving knowledge to the team, or bringing his sons to the stadium – he is literally doing everything.
After his reconstructive UCL operation and an internal base procedure, Cole is expected to stay at least 14 months out of the bullpen. But he might start throwing in August from when his recovery will be closely monitored. He, himself, is staying positive, too: “I hope it comes back like a fresh, new set of tires.”
And well, even while being injured, there are high expectations from Gerrit Cole. According to a Fox Sports prediction, he might reach 3k strikeouts (now, it’s 2,251) once he’s back in 2026.
Gerrit Cole is not stopping from doing whatever it takes to get back to the mound and perform at the highest level. Now that his kids, Caden and Everrett, donned the Yankee jersey right before the game against the Angels, fans cannot stop swooning over it. And probably, the kids’ presence motivated the players, too, as the Yanks are now standing at 33-20, with their latest 5-1 win against the Angels.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Gerrit Cole's presence in the dugout the secret weapon the Yankees need right now?

Viral post of Gerrit Cole’s sons had fans swooning over it
Another day, another dominating start by the Bronx Bombers. But surprisingly, a massive part of the spotlight was shifted to the New York Yankees‘ adorable charm. Just as the snap of Gerrit Cole’s sons wearing the Yankees jersey went viral, Talkin Yanks was filled with gushy reactions.

One of the fans, showing love for the kids, said, “Get them up and going in the pen.” Well, that’s a little bit early, isn’t it? However, the way Gerrit Cole has shown his commitment towards the team, it’s very likely that we can see the kids soon throwing in the bullpen. Don’t you think?
“Love the dirt on the uni. Play hard, boys.” If you look at the post minutely, you will see a little bit of soil on their uniform. It clearly reflects that they have been trying hard on the field and have gotten some dirt on their outfits. And if we keep encouraging them, maybe we can see them becoming great athletes down the line, just like their dad!

Another comment from a fan shifted our focus from the boys to Gerrit Cole, who he thinks should have weaved magic if he were in the Yankees’ lineup. “Cole in this rotation would’ve been s— literally.” Although it’s a funny take, it cannot be denied that the Yankees need their ace. If you remember MLB insider Bob Nightengale’s claim that the Yankees are in need of a starting pitcher. With Will Warren and Ryan Yarbrough currently managing the starting rotation, it would have been better if Cole were there.
A funny comment came from another fan: “Did Gerrit sit by his wife, Amy, and sons Caden and Everett?” Let’s not forget that, as per the post, the picture was taken by Gerrit Cole’s wife, Amy Cole. So, it might be just that Amy was there with the kids while Gerrit Cole must have been in the dugout, delivering his words to the Yankees’ pitchers and getting the job done quickly.
Amid all the praise and fun, one comment somewhat sparked some debate. “Weaver is in a 4-run game when he has pitched 4 of the last 6 games. Let’s just destroy his arm, Boone!” It seems like the fan questioned Luke Weaver’s significance in the lineup, as he has just pitched four innings in the last six games. Weaver has been doing quite well this season with a 0.73 ERA, 23 G, 24.2 IP, and 23 strikeouts. Not much to boast about, but also nothing to be disheartened about, right? And that’s probably why the fan wants Aaron Boone to get the ball to Weaver. He used to be a starting pitcher two years back, and that’s what makes it more likely to get him to pitch more.

Despite all that is happening, we cannot help but notice one thing: Gerrit Cole is making waves in some way or the other, and it’s not going otherwise. Isn’t it?
