Derek Jeter and the New York Yankees were a match made in heaven. The two helped each other grow their legacies. There is a reason why Jeter will always be one of the most celebrated players in Yankees’ history. The former Yankees captain always put the team ahead of personal glory.
As time passed by, Jeter became a symbolic figure for the Pinstripes. Apart from being a great ballplayer and an excellent leader in the ballparks, Derek Jeter was a great friend. Be it with Jorge Posada, CC Sabathia, or even Alex Rodriguez; Jeter shared great relationships with almost every Yankees player.

What is the best thing about Jeter is he is still friends with his close Yankees teammates like CC Sabathia, Tino Martinez, and Jorge Posada. Earlier this year, when Jeter was playing golf, he was asked to do a difficult task about his friends.
Derek Jeter would start CC Sabathia and cut Jorge Posada for his golf team
After retiring from baseball, Derek Jeter found a new interest in golf. Every now and then, he loves to play golf. Earlier this year, The Players’ Tribune asked gave Jeter a hard task. They asked him to start, bench and cut between Jorge Posada, Tino Martinez, and CC Sabathia for his golf team.

And with no hesitation, Jeter picked Sabathia to start over Posada and Martinez. Because Sabathia had already won two golf tournaments, while the former Yankees captain cut Posada out of his squad.

“Damn! Start, bench, cut. I mean, wow!… CC (Sabathia) has won two times this tournament. So, I would have to start CC. I’d have to bench Tino (Martinez). And I’d cut Jorge (Posada). Yes, I’d cut Jorge,” Derek Jeter said.
Notably, Jeter has played at least five years of baseball with Sabathia, Posada, and Martinez. And except for Sabathia (1), Jeter, Martinez, and Posada won at least four World Series titles together while playing for the New York Yankees.
