If there’s one team the Yankees couldn’t figure out this year, be it in regular season or postseason, it’s the Blue Jays. Sure, the Yankees struggled against the Red Sox, too, but they had them figured out in the Wild Card Series. And the Yankees’ general manager is not shying away from admitting how his team consistently failed against the Blue Jays, especially during that four-game sweep at Rogers Centre in July.

We could not solve the Toronto Blue Jays this year,” Brian Cashman said via Gotham Sports. “They rolled us in the regular season, they rolled us in the postseason.”

Yes, the Yankees had their ups and downs throughout the season, but a 5-8 H2H record in the regular season and 1-4 in the postseason is enough to show how dominating Toronto was against the Bombers this season.

The 4-0 scoreline at Rogers Centre, the 1st-ever sweep, for the Blue Jays would not justify how much they were dominating over the Yankees in the series. For instance, Toronto completely outclassed them in every department, outscoring the Yankees 36–23 across the series. And to make things worse, each matchup seemed to expose more of the Yankees’ flaws — from defensive errors to bullpen collapses!

Then, when the postseason rolled around, the Yankees hoped for redemption, but the Blue Jays crushed that dream quickly. In the 2025 ALDS, Toronto eliminated New York in four games. Notably, the first two games were blowouts, with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hitting a grand slam in Game 2 to set the tone. Even when the Yankees tried to fight back in Game 3, Toronto stayed composed. They sealed the series in Game 4 thanks to a clutch two-run single from Nathan Lukes.

But while the Jays completed their domination over the Yankees, the tussle doesn’t…

Toronto suddenly forgot how to hit a baseball. Which makes me think they were probably cheating against the New York Yankees and were stealing the Yankees’ signs,” Sports presenter Craig Carton said. Enough fodder for the Yankees fans to take out the Jays. But now, as Cashman acknowledged how they were clueless against the Jays, it’s now the time for redemption from Toronto!!

The Yankees got called out by the Blue Jays fans

Let’s get the record straight…. There’s no official evidence that the Blue Jays cheated against the Yankees in the ALDS. “Yankee GM speaking straight facts. This is for all you Yankee fans who are still coping by thinking we cheated,” one fan said. Well, after absolutely crushing the ball in the ALDS against the Yankees, the Blue Jays suddenly went quiet in the first two games of the ALCS against the Mariners, scoring just four runs total. So, it’s left Yankees fans scratching their heads, wondering how Toronto’s red-hot lineup could cool off so fast. But that’s just baseball for you.

Would’ve happened with about 5 other teams cuz your cheap a** won’t spend on top talent.” Another fan shared a realistic thought about why the Yankees struggled. If you remember, players like Anthony Volpe at the batter’s box and Devin Williams in the bullpen struggled, and manager Aaron Boone continued to play them. “How do Yankee fans still support Cashman after YEARS of mediocre baseball and him doing nothing LOL,” another Jays fan mocked.

The Yankees they’re not a good team.” One fan quoted the Blue Jays announcer, Buck Martinez’s comment back in September. While the Yankees surely didn’t perform to the expected level, they are still far from the worst. Finishing second in the AL East with a 94-68 record is too good to write off. But yes, the Yankees’ approach to take the games deep could be questioned. “Because they constructed a more balanced lineup than u did. They actually have guys who hit singles instead of home run or bust,” another added.

Reportedly, the Yankees led MLB this year with 274 HRs this season but struck out 1,463 times, the third-highest total in the majors. This shows their over-reliance on the fly-balls, which also took a toll on their offense.

Now, as the Yankees fans have had enough to deal with, all eyes will be on the coming offseason… Let’s see if the Yankees can actually turn the tables in the next year.
