Ideally, the New York Yankees were supposed to be the front-runners in the American League. And far from ideal, they’ve lost five games in a row, including three consecutive shutouts. Moreover, their Tuesday loss against the Los Angeles Angels, their third consecutive shutout, was more than brutal. It was their historic low. This game marked the seventh time that the team was shut out thrice consecutively.
The Yankees were bashed by MLB fans as the team hit its historic slump. Captain Aaron Judge went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. Consequently, he was booed in unison by the home crowd. It all got worse after Judge swung and missed in the sixth and eighth innings.
Just earlier this week, he made headlines for having the best hit for average ever. And now, across the last 5 games, he is 2-for-19 with 12 strikeouts.

The Angels, who are now at 35-37 after Tuesday’s win, capitalized where it mattered. During the fourth inning, the Angels’ Taylor Ward hit a two-run single. Ward’s hit bounced off Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s glove. It marked the fourth consecutive one-out hit off Warren in the same inning. Warren retired the last 11 batters he faced. Across six innings, he allowed three runs.
However, the Angels were again 3-0 ahead of the Yankees with Nolan Schanuel and Luis Rengifo adding an RBI to contribute to the lead.
Kyle Hendricks, along with three Angels relievers, went all in to bank the Yankees 4-0. Hendricks arguably delivered one of his best outings in years. He fanned 9 batters. That figure is the highest total since 2020.
This loss had the Yankees go into unfamiliar territory. Except for the Kansas City Royals in 2017, it’s worth noting that no team has been blanked in four back-to-back games. But now, the Yankees are super close to making their way on that list.

Three shutouts in a row—Is it time for the Yankees to make drastic changes?

Fan reacts to the Yankees’ historic slump
It’s official—the Yankees’ historic low. The first time in Yankees history, the team has scored 0 runs and struck out 10 times in three games in a row. In all 29 innings and a 4-0 loss, not even one run crossed the plate. And with that, you know the drill. MLB fans don’t hold back from trolling a team that’s supposed to be a World Series contender.
Of course, if the team is playing historically badly, the shots come straight at the captain. “Strip his captain title now…” Judge’s latest 2-for-19 with 12 strikeouts across 5 games has been labeled his worst. To top it all off, it’s the timing. When he couldn’t give the team a lead against the Angels, his team couldn’t do much either. Naturally, his leadership was questioned.
The Yankees have had a fiery lineup since the beginning of the season. The fans called it “humbling” for the team to experience what it feels like to create an undesirable history of three straight shutouts. “Ya, it’s called baseball, lol! It’s great and humbling! Even great teams get got! … Imagine being a Rockies fan.” Well, the Colorado Rockies have been historically bad. They are right on track to become the worst team of the 21st century. Not to forget, their winning percentage is 17.9%. It was certainly strange for the Yankees, being one of the best in the league, to have met their rock bottom.

If the Yankees don’t know how to improve, they’ve just been called out with ideas to make things right. “@Yankees have scored 0 runs in the last 3 games!! Yankees, Zero freaking runs!!! #Embarrassing Time for something to happen because this is bull—-! #FireSomeone #MakeATrade #TeamMeeting #DoSomething.” The Yankees were urged to either make a trade or fire the ones behind their losses. The Yankees might need to go all aggressive at this trade deadline.
The Yankees are currently at 42-30. This record might immediately seem alarming, but soon enough, if it goes any worse from here, the team might have to rethink their playoff strategies. “W– is going on with you guys??!! Snap out of it please and thank you!!!” For nearly 30 innings, how can a lineup of Yankees go scoreless? The Yankees have two more games against the Angels before they head to go against the Orioles for a three-game series. It’ll be intriguing to see if the team snaps out of its losing.
Not just Judge, even manager Aaron Boone was slammed for the team’s overall underperforming stint and poor offense. “Pathetic! This team has no b—s and it all starts with Boone.” The fan didn’t target Boone just for the three straight shutouts; he backlashed at him for his lack of urgency to stack up the wins. During this game, the Yankees were booed, especially Judge. And now, in the aftermath, fans are questioning Boone’s managerial duties.

The Bleacher Creatures have witnessed the team losing before this stint. However, nothing can come close to their latest sweep by the Red Sox and now their ongoing series against the Los Angeles Angels. And the lashes will continue if they don’t turn things around soon.
