And there’s no one quite like young baseballers honoring the veterans. One New York Yankees rookie recently got to do the same with Miguel Cabrera.
Oswaldo Cabrera (no relation) was a breakout rookie at the end of last season, quickly becoming a Bronx favorite. But by the middle of the 2023 season, he was in an alarming slump. The utility player has swung between the minors and the majors like a pendulum, being put where he’s required. But when Giancarlo Stanton started having trouble again, Yankees manager Aaron Boone called up the youngster once again. And this time, it was at a most opportune time.
