Barry Bonds, Who May Never Make the MLB Hall of Fame, Once Sang Tom Brady’s Praises After His Magnificent NFL Achievement

When it comes to sports, any sport, sometimes it’s hard to decide who the best player in a generation is. There are many good sportspersons who know the ins and outs of a game and are considered legends. Different people will probably give different names for the best of the best, but that doesn’t always mean one is better than the other. Often, stars from one sport give compliments to others and make the decisions easier for the people. This is what happened when ex-MLB icon Barry Bonds tweeted about NFL player Tom Brady. Even though Bonds has a controversial history, his status as one of the greatest baseball players of all time is undeniable. And so his opinion carries great weight.

Barry Bonds thinks Tom Brady is the best QB, period

Back in February 2017, the former left-fielder tweeted, “The greatest quarterback to ever play football Tom Brady. Congratulations buddy. Go Serra Padres…(Alumni’s)

Brady had just won his fifth Super Bowl title, beating the records of former NFL greats, Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw, who had each won four. The debate about the best quarterback was going hot and Brady was at the top of people’s lists.

Brady went on to eventually win seven Super Bowls, six with the Patriots and leading the Buccaneers to their second win after 2003.

Bonds and Brady have a surprising connection

Although from different graduating classes, the pro baseballer and quarterback went to the same high school which is Junipero Serra High School in the San Francisco Bay Area suburb of San Mateo. While Bonds was from the class of 1982, Brady graduated in 1995.

Both Bonds and Brady were talented at football, basketball, and baseball. Brady was even chosen in the 18th round of MLB Draft in 1995.

Other popular players to come out of Junipero Serra include NFL Hall of Famer Lynn Swann and Packers tackle David Bakhtiari, among others. The school now has a strong sports curriculum and will no doubt continue to churn out more successful athletes.
