Most recently, star quarterback Joe Burrow hyped up the 21-year-old with an Instagram Post. He shared a picture of himself talking batting practice with the Reds and captioned it with a combination of his and De La Cruz?s names.?

In the caption, Burrow said, ?Joey De La Cruz?. This is a massive social media move by Burrow as he acknowledges the star rookie. Reds veteran Joey Votto validated the post with an odd joke reply, saying, ?Good thing you didn?t use my last name. That would be awkward.? The joke was based on how similar their first names are.

Earlier this month, Burrow interacted with the Reds? players and even smashed a few big hits in batting practice. Interestingly enough, the Bengals? star quarterback played baseball in High School before choosing to focus on football. But his interest in the game still remains. De La Cruz seems to be attracting interest from the NFL as he interacted with another top quarterback earlier this month.

The young star from Cincinnati has shined in his games thus far and gained the attention of some top superstars. Only time will tell where his young MLB career will go from here.
