As an MLB team with a lot of history, the New York Yankees have some major celebrity fans. These include pop stars, actors, and even some top-level athletes. However, there is one NFL star who is finding it difficult to support the Yankees. Most recently, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen angered Yankees fans by betraying the team. Furthermore, he did so in order to support the Toronto Blue Jays. 

The Blue Jays and the Yankees are AL East rivals and are competing to qualify for the postseason. Although Allen is a star quarterback, Bronx Bombers supporters did not hold back in their criticism. 

Star quarterback Josh Allen betrays the New York Yankees

The Yankees are facing off against the Blue Jays in a crucial 4-game away series. But a betrayal by Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has left Yankees fans upset. The Bills star sported a Blue Jays jersey while cheering for the Toronto-based team to beat the Bronx Bombers. He has switched from being a Yankees fan and changed sides to the team’s bitter division rivals. ‘Talkin’ Yanks’ shared a Twitter video of the quarterback cheering for the Blue Jays. In a reply to their own Tweet, they also shared a picture of Allen wearing a Yankees jersey. 

In the video, Allen said, “What’s up Blue Jays fans? Josh Allen with the Bills here. With quarterbacks here in Toronto taking some batting practice, Matt Barkley home run champion hit 5 out. Some deep shots, shoutout Matt. Um, excited to be here, ready to go see the Blue Jays win a game.”

Fans have shown negative reactions to Allen’s betrayal. Some fans said that the Bills are not a true New York team.

Others criticized him for his betrayal.

But Allen’s words and support for the Blue Jays did not end well. The Yankees managed a comfortable 7-4 win over the Toronto-based team. It was a massive win for the Bronx Bombers as they started a crucial away series with a win. The team has won games recently, after testing fans’ patients with some difficult losses. Furthermore, it gives them a chance to build more momentum and continue their good form.

The Yankees have a chance to further climb up the AL East

Although the Yankees started off the season in bad form, they have recently built some good momentum. The team has won 7 of their last 10 games and is slowly climbing up the AL East. With their current away series against the Blue Jays, they have a chance to create further momentum while also hurting their division rivals.

Earlier this month, they climbed off of the bottom of the division and are now asserting their will. It will be interesting to see how the New York-based team performs in the near future.
