Bryce Harper is certainly enjoying this offseason. After a heartbreaking loss in the NLCS, the Philadelphia Phillies star vowed to come back stronger. With the team trying to improve itself for the next few months, Harper is relaxing and getting his mind ready for 2024. One of the favorite pastimes of numerous athletes is watching live sports. Harper is no different, as he was caught recently watching an NHL game with his wife.

The renowned Philadelphia Phillies star is a notable supporter of the Vegas Golden Knights ice hockey team. However, on this occasion, he opted to attend a game featuring other teams. Nonetheless, this isn’t the initial instance of Harper being spotted in a hockey arena. One may speculate his background and connection to this sport?.

Harper is a Vegas boy, so his fandom for the Vegas Golden Knights is obvious. Having attended quite a few of their games, he is a known figure on that team’s fan base. But recently he was caught attending a different team’s game with his wife, Kayla. Harper and Kayla sat in the Nationwide Arena in Columbus to watch the Columbus Blue Jackets face off against the Arizona Coyotes. Sadly for him, the Arizona nightmare is continuing to haunt him as the Coyotes beat the Blue Jackets 3-2 on Thursday night.

But this isn’t the first time Harper has been seen in a hockey arena. The 7x All-Star has been a big fan of the Golden Knights since their inception in 2017, when he dropped a puck before their game that season. The connection doesn’t end there as Harper put the team’s logo on his bat during their Stanley Cup finals campaign in 2018.

In its inaugural season in 2018, the Golden Knights secured a conference title, and in 2023, they achieved the remarkable feat once more, clinching their first Stanley Cup title. Harper would have surely loved to win the 2023 World Series and celebrate both wins together. Unfortunately, the desired outcome did not come to fruition. But his connection with the Knights and NHL remains strong. So does his love for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Harper was filled with regrets after the NLCS loss and his underperformance during the last two games, but he vowed to come back stronger afterward. During the 2023 season, Harper underwent a positional shift to first base as part of a strategic move to incorporate him into the field following his notable recovery from Tommy John surgery.

A week back, per the Phillies announcement, the 2023 Silver Slugger winner is looking to permanently shift to first base. This shift marks Bryce Harper’s transition to playing first base on a full-time basis for the Phillies, signifying a shift away from Rhys Hoskins for the franchise.

Harper actively takes part in the Phillies recruitment process so it could be a busy offseason for him as well. But until then, he’s enjoying some quality time with his wife watching ice hockey. This could help take the sting away from the NLCS loss, but one can only hope that watching Arizona win again didn’t aggravate old wounds.
