In his own words, Edmonds mentioned,” I’m still shocked that we’ve changed so much as a whole that [we’re] not allowed to have the Cleveland Indians anymore — the Guardians. Jim Edmonds Sounded Off on the Name Change Thing

Cleveland Guardians changed their names from Cleveland Indians, this was probably not a very desirable move for Edmonds. He also mentioned that. This was the first time when the Cleveland team changed their name. However, Washington Commanders had changed their name for the third time. As for the latter, there seems to be a military symbolism attached to the W logo of the team, which is touted to be the reason for the addition of Commanders to the name.

Edmond didn’t seem to appreciate the fact, and he rather feels it was attached to the nostalgic days and the legacy of the players who played from the team under the previous names.

Since this is among the heated conversations, people have been making remarks about the former player’s words.

The Cardinals Legend further justified his stance by saying that there are many people who reach out to them and say that they were better off with the old names. He found it funny to hear such diverse opinions.
