Yoel Romero revealed he’d been in talks with Jake Paul and his team for a boxing match with the YouTuber turned professional boxer. However, the fight never took place as Jake Paul chose to go with Ben Askren instead. At that time, Yoel Romero had just parted ways with the UFC and would have been a free agent, allowing him to easily participate in the fight.

“Yeah, it’s true. So, what happened was that initially, Jake Paul wanted to do a fight with Yoel. Will we ever see Yoel Romero in a boxing ring?

An Olympic silver medalist in wrestling, Yoel Romero entered the UFC using his impeccable wrestling skills in the octagon. However, his athletic and explosive abilities earned have allowed him to become a lethal striker.

A patient fighter, Romero has the ability to stay on the outside only to blitz into range and land concussive blows, often ending the fight. Considering the current landscape of boxing, it won’t be a surprise to see the Cuban national put on some boxing gloves for the right price.
