ONE Championship, formerly known as ONE Fighting Championship or ONE FC, was founded on July 04, 2011. The MMA promotion is owned by Group One Holdings. It is currently under the leadership of Chatri Sityodtong.

ONE Championship: Leadership and Board of Directors
Besides being the founder, Chatri Sityodtong is the Chairman and CEO of the MMA promotion. The senior leadership of the promotion includes Hua Fung Teh (Group President), Jesley Chua (Chief Financial Officer), and Carlos Alimurung (CEO of ONE Esports).
Sityodtong is also the chairman of the Board of Directors. Saurabh Mittal is the vice-chairman. Besides them, the Board of Directors also includes Shailendra Singh and the Group president, Hua Fung Teh.
Chatri Sityodtong: The CEO and chairman of the promotion
Sityodtong is from Thailand and was born in 1971. He struggled with $4 a day at the lowest point of his life before going on to create Asia’s largest global sports empire.
Sityodtong graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Tufts University and got an MBA from Harvard Business School, at Harvard University, in 1999.
He started his Muay Thai training as a child under Kru Yodtong Senanan of Sityodtong Camp in Pattaya, Thailand. Then in 2005, he started his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training under Renzo Gracie. As of October 2021, he is a Kru in Muay Thai and a brown belt in BJJ.

How successful is the promotion?
As has been mentioned before, ONE Championship made a name for itself over the years. The promotion is Asia’s largest global sports media property, as per Forbes. Meanwhile, Neilson suggests it is the third most-watched sports media property in terms of viewership and engagement.
