Demetrious Johnson will undoubtedly go down as an all-time legend in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts. In an active career of over a decade, ‘Mighty Mouse’ has seen many blockbuster wins, besides some scratchy losses. However, his aura of being a fan-favorite persona has always been irreplaceable.

Demetrious Johnson has been calculative regarding his activities throughout his career. That said, unlike several other fighters, he doesn’t intend to stick around in the combat world for too long. The 35-year-old is currently under ONE Championship, running with a 3-1 record in the promotion.

‘DJ’ may possibly hang his gloves under the ONE banner. But he appears to be targeting a secured financial number before calling it a day. As an MMA veteran, Johnson revealed two of the most crucial factors that every young fighter should look out for.

In a chat with Ariel Helwani, ‘Mighty Mouse’ said, “I tell young athletes, One: save your money because the money you make now isn’t going to be the same when you get older; Two, Your group needs to be somebody you can trust and want the best things for you” (H/T:-Ariel Helwani)

He also recalled his time in the past and how coaches played an important role in shaping up his career. That said, Demetrious Johnson is now a mentor to several young athletes. American fighter James Yang, who made his successful pro-MMA debut in ONE: Revolution, has been praiseful towards Johnson’s efforts in his preparations. Hence, the former UFC titlist is clearly bringing a new wave in modern-age combat.

If the scheduled plans turn out to be a reality, ‘DJ’ will go against ‘IronMan’ Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a crossbreed fight in December. The innovative idea has already sent the MMA community into a frenzy. Per reports, the four-round battle will be held in alternative MMA and Muay Thai rounds. But Rodtang has been tested positive for Covid-19 and is out of his scheduled kickboxing bout in October.
