Thus, the Thai athlete is putting the hours in on her training routine to prepare herself for Phogat’s wrestling prowess. However, the Indian wrestling sensation believes any amount of work in such a short period won’t do much for Stamp.

In an exclusive interview with ONE Championship, Phogat said – “As my MMA idol Khabib Nurmagomedov once said, ‘My style is not like anyone. I am not a typical wrestler,’ I would offer a similar response in this context as Stamp Fairtex has never faced an opponent with my wrestling credentials and pedigree.”

“I have developed my wrestling game by learning the craft over a period that spans over a decade and a half. I do not believe that a single training camp would bring Stamp to my level of expertise as far as wrestling is concerned. She would have to dedicate a considerable chunk of her life to wrestling to match steps with me.” – the 27-year-old concluded.

Meanwhile, Stamp can certainly dominate Phogat in a stand-up fight by using her elite striking skills. Furthermore, she is aware of her opponent’s strengths. Thus, the Thai athlete wants to be ready for wherever the fight may go.

In one of her interviews, Stamp said – “I will definitely need to train more, especially on my takedown and my game plan. In the Circle, in the next fight, my gameplan needs to be smarter than hers.”

Regardless of what the two have said, it will all come down to who can execute their strategy the best. In addition, the winner of this fight will secure a title shot against the current ONE women’s atomweight champion, Angela Lee. As a result, fans can expect a flurry of action in the GP final, as both fighters will undoubtedly give it their best at ONE: Winter Warriors.
