Rittewada Petchyindee Academy has a tough assignment in his ONE Championship debut.
The Thai striker faces off against #1-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai contender Saemapetch Fairtex at ONE: NEXTGEN II this Friday, 12 November – and he has promised to make the most of the opportunity.

“I want to show my talent. I want to show my skills. ONE has all great fighters, and I want to prove myself there to the world,” he said.
“I think if I can beat him, I would be able to fight almost everyone in this weight class. My confidence is 100 percent, and I know I have a chance to win.”

His opponent has been on a roll, though, earning a huge knockout win over #3-ranked contender “Left Meteorite” Kulabdam Sor. Jor. Piek Uthai in April, and a decision win over #2 contender Rodlek PK.Saenchai Muaythaigym last August.

These performances on the global stage have given Rittewada a chance to analyze the biggest offensive threats Saemapetch has, and he admits he has yet to discover any flaws within his opponent’s arsenal.
“Saemapetch is strong and has heavy strikes. His scariest weapon is his punch – he punches hard and fast,” Rittewada said.
“I need to figure out [his weaknesses] in the Circle, but I think I have studied his style well enough. What I can use to defeat him is my timing, speed, and footwork. And I’ll use my kicks.”
Although he admits Saemapetch has all the tools needed to leave the Circle with another scalp on his resume, Rittewada is certain that his skills are up to par against his more experienced foe.

The 25-year-old has won seven of his last eight fights by knockout, and he boasts a 90-25-5 record. He has fought in the world-renowned Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok and won WMC Muay Thai World Titles.

He has every right to believe he can take out the #1-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai athlete, and he wants to do so before the final bell rings.
“I have prepared all kinds of strikes for ONE Championship to show them to the world. There’s going to be a surprise,” he added.
