One Middleweight champion, Reinier De Ridder, retained his title and moved his unbeaten record to 15-0 by finishing Kiamrian Abbasov in a high voltage clash, which turned out to be a lopsided contest in his favor.

The champion dominated the fight from the start to the end and didn’t let his rival offer much to the foray. Following the win, De Ridder even called out the heavyweight fighters as he has already battered the lower-weight contenders.

While many saw Abbaso as an antidote to Ridder’s dominance, the same didn’t happen in reality. Both men offered an entertaining contest that didn’t sit well with Abbasov. Here’s a broader look at the fight.

Reinier De Ridder wasted no time in taking the fight to the ground. The undefeated world champion seemed ready to defend his status at any cost and dragged Kiamrian Abbasov to the canvas, grabbing hold of his neck thoroughly. Putting his grappling skills to the display, De Ridder tried to impose a choke on his rival.

However, Abbasov did a pretty good job on the mat, saved himself briefly, but ended up bleeding profusely. Reinier De Ridder slit opened Abbasov’s head and looked dominant in the maiden round itself. With 30 seconds remaining in round one, Abbasov went back up on his feet. Nevertheless, the champion had no intentions of offering a striking feast as he remained on the ground.

Round two began similarly, as Ridder could get hold of Abbasov on the ground. Well, Abbasov came up to middleweight from welterweight, and he looked vulnerable in the new weight class. Meanwhile, De Ridder kept planting nasty elbows on his opponent, which did legitimate damage.

While the champion was constantly trying to out choke Abbasov, it proved to be a demanding task. Well, Ridder had his opponent gassed out by then. Kiamrian Abbasov came close to passing out at the end of round two and was completely coated in blood. Yet, he kept the show running. But that didn’t last too long as De Ridder successfully choked out Abbasov in round three of the fight.
