Ever since the UFC lightweight GOAT, Khabib Nurmagomedov, broke the news of his teammate Izagakhmaev inking a deal with ONE Championship, fans have been eager to see him in action. Furthermore, several eyes were on this bout as ‘The Eagle’ announced he would be in the corner of his long-time training partner.

Izagakhmaev, who was 19-2 coming into this bout, made his promotional debut riding on a 2-fight win streak. Furthermore, the Dagestani fighter vowed to mix things up at ONE: HEAVY HITTERS.

Saygid Izagakhmaev dominates James Nakashima at ONE: HEAVY HITTERS

The pair started slow and had a stand-up fight for the first four minutes of round one. Furthermore, the two were looking sharp on their feet. Izagakhmaev scored the first takedown of the fight in the last minute of the opening round.

In the second round, the Dagestani fighter started strong as he immediately scored a takedown. He then put Nakashima in a deep head and arm choke.

The bout resulted in Izagakhmaev winning via submission in the second round.

As soon as Izagakhmaev won, he wasted no time and called out Shinya Aoki in the post-fight interview. Furthermore, he had some intriguing words to say.

In the post-fight interview, the Dagestani fighter said“I will kill Aoki. I will destroy Aoki.” Moreover, he wants the newly introduced $50k bonus.
