Fans witnessed several exciting bouts at the second chapter of the ONE: NEXTGEN series. One such exciting bout was the featherweight MMA clash between Tang Kai and Yoon Chang Min in the co-main event at ONE: NEXTGEN II.

Several eyes were on this co-main event as the winner has a good chance of getting ranked in the division.

Kai, who was 12-2 coming into this bout, was riding on a 7-fight win streak. In Kai’s eyes, the Yoon is nothing but muscle-bound and slow. Furthermore, the Chinese featherweight sensation aimed to defeat Yoon via a second-round KO. 

Meanwhile, Yoon, who was 5-1 coming into this bout, was riding on a 1-fight win streak.

Tang Kai claims a jaw-dropping victory

The bout started slow, with Yoon throwing kicks and going for takedown attempts, but nothing significant in the first minute of round one. Meanwhile, Kai started throwing strikes from the second minute of round one. However, the pair picked up the pace in the later minutes of opening round.

Kai wasted no time in the last few minutes and landed a huge left hook that dropped Yoon. Then, Kai followed up with some ground-and-pound, resulting in the referee calling off the fight. The bout resulted in Kai winning the bout via TKO in the first round.

There is a good chance that the winner of this bout secures a ranking in the featherweight MMA division. Now that Kai has claimed a dominant victory, he might get ranked anywhere in the top 5 positions. Thus, it is safe to say that Kai will probably face any of the top contenders in the featherweight division.

Meanwhile, Yoon will have to go back to the drawing board to figure out how to put himself back on the map to get ranked.
