One such person includes the former UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Many believe Izagakhmaev is destined to achieve greatness in ONE Championship, considering he trains with an MMA legend in Nurmagomedov. Well, they are not wrong, as the former UFC superstar has not let down the fans as a coach thus far.

Moreover, the former UFC lightweight champion plans to be on Izagakhmaev’s corner as he makes his promotional debut at ONE: HEAVY HITTERS.

As per a recent Twitter post by ONE Championship, Nurmagomedov said – “I am going to be with [Saygid] in Singapore… I’ve been almost everywhere around the world and Singapore is one of the countries where I want to go.”

How will Khabib Nurmagomedov being on Saygid Izagakhmaev’s corner affect the fight?

Nurmagomedov retired as an undefeated (29-0) UFC lightweight champion. Thus, there is no doubt the Dagestani fighter was one of the best MMA fighters in the world. One can say the same about his career as an MMA coach.

Furthermore, some of Nurmagomedov’s best coaching skills came to the fore when he was in the corner of Islam Makhachev for his fight against Dan Hooker at UFC 267. Makhachev claimed a dominant first-round submission (kimura) victory as Nurmagomedov guided him throughout the bout.

Thus, there is no doubt about Nurmagomedov doing the same when he will be at Izagakhmaev’s corner at ONE: HEAVY HITTERS.
