Nowadays, Jake Paul is essentially a full-time Twitter troll. The hype of his fantastic knockout over Nate Robinson has pushed him into a spot as a mainstream celebrity within the combat sports world. Further, Paul is bringing a lot of eyes to the sport from his success as a YouTuber. However, Paul has not really fought anyone of any credibility and is aiming high.

After calling out Conor McGregor, throwing things at Dillon Danis, and a whole host of other things designed for him to promote his brand on social media, he has gotten in the face of Michael Bisping and Nate Diaz. Paul was called out by Bisping, who said he would knock him out within the first round of a fight. Similarly, Nate Diaz warned Paul on Twitter after his scathing attacks on Conor McGregor.

Paul has seemingly responded to both men with one tweet.

Melatonin is the drug that is prescribed to people dealing with insomnia. Obviously, the joke is about getting put to sleep. Diaz has never been knocked out. He has two TKO losses on his resume, one to Josh Thomson and the other a doctor’s stoppage to Jorge Masvidal.

Jake Paul: Is this getting tedious?

Paul is burning his bridges with a lot of the MMA community, mainly because he will never step inside a cage. That is why he is trying to tempt these people into the boxing ring. His other call-outs have been to wrestlers like Chris Weidman. Diaz is a BJJ specialist, and Bisping is retired. These guys aren’t in their prime.

Jake Paul is being smart about his call-outs and generating tons of hype for himself as a result. He made his reputation on YouTube being a ‘troll’ with videos like ‘It’s Everyday Bro’. He is a talented boxer, but that talent hasn’t been tested against anyone of actual skill.

Paul is cleverly building his name within the combat sports community by calling out these names. Whether he actually gets some major MMA star to fight him, is another question.
