Claressa Shields has been in the news as she announced that she would switch over to MMA. The two-time Olympic gold medallist signed a deal with PFL. This will see her compete as a mixed martial artist in early 2021. However, ‘T-Rex’ has built a reputation for being one of if not the best female boxers in the world right now.

She is 10-0 as a professional boxer and defeated Ivana Habazin in her last fight. In her professional career thus far, she has never been pushed to the limit and has taken to a different sport in search of a new challenge.

Claressa Shields eyes a match with an unlikely opponent 

It shocked the combat sports world when it was recently announced that Floyd Mayweather would return to the ring to take on Logan Paul next February in an exhibition. Logan Paul is the elder brother of Jake Paul, who recently caused a stir when he knocked out Nate Robinson in brutal fashion on the same card as Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. 

In response to the announcement Shields tweeted saying, “Alright @FloydMayweather you whoop on @LoganPaul & I’ll beat up his little brother @jakepaul for the CULTURE! How about it”

A few hours ago, ‘The Problem Child’ took to Twitter to call out multiple athletes looking for a potential next fight. While tweeting about Shields he said, “Don’t get me started about @Claressashields”

Shields has been training with Jackson Wink MMA and Jon Jones recently for her much-anticipated move to mixed martial arts. 

However, it seems as though Sheilds is not opposed to getting back in the ring against Jake Paul. ‘The Problem Child’ has only fought twice professionally. His first fight was against fellow YouTuber Ali Eson Gib who he knocked out in the first round. Nate Robinson was his second victim. Since his win, Paul has been calling out the biggest names in combat sport in the hopes of securing a fight.
