YouTuber Jake Paul has transitioned his career well from a YouTube personality to one of the most polarizing figures in boxing. What started as an exhibition fight against a fellow YouTuber has now morphed into a deal with one of the biggest platforms in Showtime boxing. On his way to the top, Jake Paul has rubbed a number of people the wrong way, including former and current UFC champions.

One such former UFC champion is reportedly set to take on Jake Paul as he prepares for his next fight in the boxing ring. Paul will be hoping to extend his unblemished professional record as he takes on arguably his biggest test to date.

How did Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley come about?

Recent reports suggest that Tyron Woodley is next in line against YouTuber Jake Paul. The fight will take place later this year and at this point in time, a location or a date is unknown. ‘T-Wood’ is a former UFC fighter and is one of the most decorated UFC welterweight champions. He defended his belt four times.

Woodley acted as a cornerman for Ben Askren’s fight against Jake Paul. Prior to the fight, Woodley, as is the norm, was in Paul’s dressing room to inspect his hand wraps.

During this, Paul, along with a few members of his team, started disrespecting Tyron Woodley, which did not sit well with Woodley or the MMA community. He has since been gunning for a fight against ‘The Problem Child’.

After his most recent loss against Vicente Luque at UFC 260, the UFC released Woodley and he was free to negotiate with team Paul. ‘The Problem Child’ was promoted by Triller in his last fight against Ben Askren which reportedly sold a whopping 1.5 million PPV buys. He then signed a multi-fight deal with Showtime, and this is the first bout in that deal.

Unlike Askren, Woodley is known for having good hands. He has legitimate one-punch knockout power and has secured 37% of his wins via T/KO in his professional career. This will, without a doubt, be the biggest test in Paul’s career so far.
