“Stay in Your Lane”- Ben Askren Sends a Stern Warning to Jake Paul

Jake Paul will be aiming to transition from a successful YouTuber to a successful boxer this weekend as he takes on Nate Robinson on the undercard of Tyson vs Jones Jr. 

Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr takes place this weekend. The card has attracted a lot of attention due to the fact that two former champions will be returning to the ring. The extra eyeballs on the event are something that the up-and-coming boxers on the undercard of the event welcome. It serves as an excellent opportunity for them to make a statement and make themselves known to a new set of audience.

Jake Paul and Ben Askren get into a war of words on social media

Leading up to the fight, Jake Paul mentioned that he would like to take on the likes of Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren in a boxing match. In a recent interview, a reporter asked him how he thought he would fare against elite combat athletes. 

The Problem Child’ believes that his skillset in boxing is superior, as he has been focusing on boxing ever since he got into the sport. MMA fighters such as Askren have to train jiu-jitsu, wrestling, grappling among other practices.

Therefore, he feels he would fare well against MMA fighters. ‘Funky’ did not appreciate the comments made. He responded to a clip of the interview on Twitter saying, “He is out of his damn mind.”

In response, ‘The Problem Child’ mocked Ben about being knocked out in five-seconds by Jorge Masvidal. Askren, a former champion with ONE, hit back at the YouTuber, “Jake I’m a world-class athlete, you’re a thespian. Stay in your lane.”

Paul takes on Nate Robinson this weekend in his second professional boxing fight. He started off his boxing career in August 2018 in an amateur fight against Deji Olatunji aka ‘ComedyShortsGamer’. He won the fight via stoppage. 

His first professional fight was against Ali Eson Gib, a fellow YouTuber in January this year. He won the fight via first-round stoppage.
