Amanda Nunes vs Megan Anderson in the works for early 2021

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto put out a tweet that read, “Per sources, Amanda Nunes vs. Megan Anderson title fight at UFC 256 next month is off. More info to @ESPN shortly.”

The UFC has not confirmed this officially. However, it’s understood that Nunes withdrew from the bout due to ‘serious medical issues’.

This would have been the Nunes’ second title defense at featherweight. She won the featherweight belt after knocking out Cris Cyborg at UFC 232. She then defended her belt for the first time against Felicia Spencer in June this year. ‘The Lioness’ is currently on an 11-fight win streak.

She is currently on a two-fight win streak with wins over Zarah Dos Santos and Norma Dumont Viana. Both wins were stoppage victories.
