Amanda Nunes is perhaps one of the most, if not the most, dominant champion the UFC has ever had. ‘The Lioness’ has been actively defending belts at two weight classes, which is something we have never seen before. She is the Bantamweight and featherweight champion in the UFC.

However, the UFC’s conveyor belt of talent does not allow Nunes to become complacent, as one hungry challenger after another emerges to take what belongs to her. Amanda was supposed to defend her belt In December against rising Australian prospect, Megan Anderson at UFC 256. However, recent developments suggest the fight is off.

This would have been the Nunes’ second title defense at featherweight. She won the featherweight belt after knocking out Cris Cyborg at UFC 232. She then defended her belt for the first time against Felicia Spencer in June this year. ‘The Lioness’ is currently on an 11-fight win streak.

Megan Anderson, on the other hand, is a former Invicta featherweight champion. She made her UFC debut in 2018 against Holly Holm. After succumbing to a loss against Holm, she bounced back with a win over Cat Zingano. She is 3-2 in her fights at featherweight in the UFC.

She is currently on a two-fight win streak with wins over Zarah Dos Santos and Norma Dumont Viana. Both wins were stoppage victories.

Anderson will prove to be an enormous threat for ‘The Lioness’ as she will have a sizeable height and reach advantage over the champion. The fight will be an interesting bout between two of the best at featherweight currently.
