UFC heavyweight contenders Curtis Blaydes and Jairzinho Rozenstruik would compete at UFC 266 on September 25. Their matchup joins a long list of fights scheduled in the month of September. Although the date and month are known for the event, the UFC is yet to decide on the venue and location for the same.
Already the event had some high octane clashes lined up. Current UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz will be defending his crown against Glover Teixeira with current featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski expected to go against Brian Ortega in the same event.

Rozenstruik will head into the battle after his recent demolition of Augusto Sakai at UFC Fight Night 189. The former knocked out Sakai in the stoppage second of the first round.
Meanwhile, Blaydes will be out looking for a win after suffering a devastating loss against the current No.1 contender for the title, Derrick Lewis in his last outing at UFC Fight Night 185.

Recent UFC stats of Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Curtis Blaydes
Rozenstruik (12-2) was riding on a 10 fight winning streak in MMA matches before facing the current divisional champion Francis Ngannou last year at UFC 249. Ngannou displayed his ruthless striking caliber as he dispatched ‘Bigi Boy’ in 20 seconds.
After watching his winning streak getting snapped, ‘Bigi Boy’ came back strongly. He gave his best against former champion Jonathan dos Santos at UFC 253 as he picked up a TKO win.
His next fight came against Ciryl Gane at UFC Fight Night 186. The match went till the 5th round and Rozenstruik suffered a unanimous decision loss. A first of its type loss in his career.
With 2 losses in the last 3 fights, Rozenstruik was on a mission against Sakai. The latter was a dangerous prospect, but ‘Bigi Boy’ kept his composure before unleashing his striking fury to pick up a TKO win.
Meanwhile, Blaydes was enjoying his 4 fight win streak before facing Derrick Lewis. He had picked up some impressive wins against the likes of Junior dos Santos via TKO at UFC Fight Night 166. And then against Alexander Volkov via unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN 11.

He fought Lewis earlier this year at UFC Fight Night 185 and suffered a devastating KO loss. His 3 career losses comprise two against Ngannou and one against Lewis.
Now, both men have a chance to put their case forward for the championship in the coming times. With Lewis and Miocic next in line for the gold, things are getting heated up in the heaviest division of the promotion.
