Dominick Reyes is still one of the best light heavyweights in the world, despite coming short in two back-to-back title fights recently. The light heavyweight division has seen either Jon Jones or Daniel Cormier at the helm for the better part of a decade. With Cormier now retired, and ‘Bones’ relinquishing his belt to move up a weight class, there is a new dawn at light heavyweight.

‘The Devastator’ started his career in the UFC with a bang. He made his debut in June 2017 with a TKO victory over Joachim Christensen. Reyes then followed that up with two more stoppage victories over the likes of Cannonier and Jeremy Kimball. He then amassed three more victories before he was given a title shot against Jon Jones.

In his fight against Jones, Reyes arguably pushed the champion harder than anyone has before. Though he lost a controversial decision, most people believe he won the fight. After Jones relinquished the title, ‘The Devastator’ was awarded a fight against Jan Blachowicz for the vacant belt at UFC 253.

Jiri is a hard hitter and has secured a mind-boggling 89% of his 27 wins via TKO/KO. The former Rizin fighter has suffered just one loss in his previous 23 fights and will look to continue his winning streak.
The fight will be extremely important for both men. For Jiri, it’s an excellent opportunity to jump up in the rankings. For Reyes, it’s a tough fight against a worthy adversary to get back into the title picture. MMA fans will be drooling over the thought of this fight being finalized.
