Claudia Gadelha will mark her return to the sport by taking on Xiaonan Yan. The two women kick off the main card in an extremely interesting strawweight bout. Gadelha last fought in May and beat Angela Hill via split decision. 

Xiaonan Yan made her debut in the UFC in 2017 and beat Kailin Curran She has continued her win streak and is currently unbeaten in the UFC with a record of 5-0. She will be aiming to extend her winning streak against an extremely dangerous opponent.

Claudia Gadelha blows off talk of a rematch with Angela Hill

Claudia Gadelha attended a virtual press conference leading up to her fight against Yan. A reporter asked Gadelha if she would be interested in taking a rematch against Hill, who has been talking a lot of trash against her. ‘Claudinha’ replied, “No, not really. I already beat her. Angela talks too much. I don’t like the disrespect for fighters. 

Gadelha continued, “I respect people that do what I do for a living, because I know how hard it is. I feel like Angela talks too much, and disrespects everybody. She’s already talking sh*t about Tecia Torres, her next opponent. So I’m not worried about her. She should be training hard and then trying to get back on a win streak.”

The two women fought in May this year. To her surprise, Hill lost the fight via split decision. ‘Overkill’ believed she had done enough to secure the win. Therefore, losing the fight has not gone down well with her. 

In the fight, Hill landed an impressive 93 total strikes with an accuracy of 51%. She also landed 90 significant strikes with an accuracy of 51% as well. 

Naturally, she has been gunning for a rematch against Claudia. However, it looks as though the Brazilian star is not interested in the same. Claudia has revealed that if she gets past Yan, she would like to rematch Joanna Jedrzejczyk or Carla Esparza.
