Leon Edwards has solidified his place among the elites at 170-pounds in the UFC. The Englishman is on a nine-fight win streak and has secured wins over some of the very best in the UFC. After his recent performance against Nate Diaz, many believed that he would be next in line for a title shot. Unfortunately for ‘Rocky’ and his fans, Dana White has stated once again that Colby Covington will be next in line for a title shot.

Chaos’ recently appeared in an interview where he gave his thoughts on a potential fight between his former teammate Jorge Masvidal and Leon Edwards.

He said, “Yeah it makes sense. I didn’t watch the fights last night. After you guys were telling me the breakdown of how the fight played out last night, that’s not a title-shot-worthy performance. You need to go out there and solidify yourself as one of the top fighters in the world. And by beating a guy with double-digit losses in the Stockton ‘Soyboy’ Nate Diaz, and not by finishing him, that doesn’t earn you a title shot.”

‘Chaos’ continued, “So yeah, it makes sense. He should go out there and fight another guy. Go fight that fragile guy ‘Street Judas Masvidal’. That makes sense, they have the history, ‘Street Judas’ sucker-punched him backstage. Let them fight.”

While Masvidal was giving an interview, he heard ‘Rocky’ yell at him, asking for a fight. Masvidal proceeded towards the Englishman and unleashed a ‘Three-piece and a soda’. Since then, Edwards has been desperately wanting a fight against ‘Gamebred’

Given the current circumstances, a fight between the two men would make sense. As Edwards has fought only twice in the last two years, he will be aiming to stay active. Since Covington is getting the next title shot, ‘Rocky’ would want to stay active and fight someone till the UFC title picture at welterweight is figured out.

Therefore, a fight against Masvidal would make a lot of sense. Not only would it be an interesting fight stylistically, but it would also make for an extremely interesting buildup.
