UFC 245 Usman vs Covington took place on Saturday, December 14, at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.

Kamaru Usman, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare‘, was going against former interim titleholder and number-two ranked contender, Colby Covington.

Both fighters landed good shots early with no wrestling insight, but the actual highlight was Usman’s powerful striking throughout the fight. He attacked Covington’s body with hard punches and kicks that seemed to do the job of slowing Covington down.

A rematch between Usman and Colby is on the cards, as Dana white gave out hints in the press meet post-UFC 258 fight night.

In the press meet, White said, “Colby Covington is a bad dude man, and he dominates everybody that he fights, and he’s the real deal he’s very good and if you look at the war that he and Usman had and how Usman finished that fight it’s one of the greatest fights I’ve ever seen so he looked damn good tonight um but he looked really good in that Covington fight.

Watching Kamaru’s performance against Gilbert Burns reminded Dana of UFC 245.

A look back at Colby’s and Kamaru’s UFC career

Colby Covington is the former interim welterweight champion. He is also the two-time NCAA all-American Division 1 wrestler.

Covington has learned to weaponise his cardio with his relentless well-balanced attack, and that has been a riddle no fighter has solved
thus far.
On the other hand, Usman is the current UFC welterweight champion and a three-time NCAA all-American Division 2 wrestler. Kamaru has a solid attack and when it counts the most, he finishes the fight.
He now holds wins over legends like Tyron Woodley, Rafael dos Anjos, Demian Maia, Colby Covington, and now, Gilbert burns.
What’s next for Usman and Colby? Do you think a rematch between these two would change matters?
