Conor McGregor suffered a nasty injury during his fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. ‘The Notorious’ snapped his leg in half after Dustin Poirier checked one of his kicks. Following the injury, McGregor has received mixed reactions from the MMA community. While many attributed karma for his injury and rejoiced, others like Anderson Silva have been staunch supporters of Conor McGregor’s ability to make a comeback.

In a recent interview prior to his fight against Tito Ortiz, Anderson Silva shared his thoughts on Conor McGregor’s injury and a possible return to action. He said, “This is a tough moment, you know, I know it’s a tough moment. Conor have the mental strong. He is a samurai. And I believe Conor come back stronger than the others. You know, I pray for Conor, I pray for Chris Weidman and I believe in the guys back very soon.”

Anderson Silva vs Tito Ortiz- a preview
‘The Spider’ Anderson Silva has cemented his legacy as one of the best to ever step into an octagon. During his reign as the middleweight champion in the UFC, ‘The Spider’ smashed record after record and made world-class opponents look like day one amateurs. However, his career in the UFC did not end as he would have liked, as he lost seven of his last ten fights in the UFC.

However, it appears as though Silva has turned over a new leaf with his boxing career. ‘The Spider’ recently secured an impressive win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr earlier this year. He will now take on former UFC champion Tito Ortiz in an epic fight. This will be Ortiz’s debut as a boxer.

Ortiz has been out of action since December 2019 when he secured an MMA win over Alberto El Patron.

Now, going into the fight, Ortiz has been extremely vocal and has stated he does not respect Anderson Silva for taking this fight at a lower weight class. As there is some heat, it will be interesting to see how the fight between the two men pans out.
