Conor McGregor is one of the biggest names in pop culture as a whole. He is easily the biggest box office draw in UFC history, mainly due to his genuine mainstream appeal. His charismatic and brash nature, coupled with his skills inside the cage had the UFC marketing machine swirling. ‘The Notorious’ is one of the biggest active stars in combat sports period.
One of the most coveted periods of Conor’s career came from 2015 to 2016 where he catapulted himself to superstardom after his wins over Jose Aldo and a pair of Nate Diaz fights. While the Khabib Nurmagomedov and Floyd Mayweather bouts came later, the last Diaz fight was essentially the watershed moment of Conor’s star actually exploding all over the world.
This period was covered in his 2017 documentary ‘Notorious’. While it has been widely available on Netflix in most regions, some countries are still waiting for it. As Conor himself confirmed, the documentary is officially on Netflix Italy.

‘The Notorious’ got over a million buys to face Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone when Cowboy was on a three-fight losing streak. That wasn’t even a high-profile affair, and it still easily broke a million buys. This sort of star value or power is just non-existent in most other sports.
