UFC lightweight elites Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier are just a few hours away from a blockbuster trilogy clash at UFC 264. The veterans will enter the ring to culminate an epic rivalry that started 7 years ago.

Both fighters are level with 1 victory and as many losses. Their recent fight, the headliner of UFC 257, ended in the favor of the ‘Diamond’ as he inflicted a TKO win over McGregor.

The fight also has many things at stake for both the fighters. The winner of the fight will certainly fight for the title next. For McGregor, it’s also about preserving his legacy as he has fallen off in some of his recent matches.

Poirier, though, would hope to get the double over McGregor and continue his mission towards the first undisputed belt. Before they pounce upon each other in one of the biggest fights of the year, let’s take a look at some stats and compare them beforehand.

McGregor also has a better takedown defense with 67% to the 61% of Poirier. The average submission stat per minute is nil for McGregor whereas Poirier clocks 1.3.

Poirier (27-6), meanwhile, has recorded some emphatic ones in the build-up to this fight. This January, he avenged his previous loss by handing McGregor a first-of-its-kind loss (TKO/KO) for him.

He went to war against Dan Hooker last year in an instant classic 5 rounder unanimous decision win. And just like McGregor, he too suffered a submission loss against Khabib at UFC 242.

McGregor meanwhile, is the richest UFC fighter ever. His net worth currently stands at $400 million, according to SCMP.com.

‘The Notorious’ one recently bagged the award for the highest-paid sports athlete in the past year with earnings close to $180 million.
