Curtis Blaydes is one of the top heavyweights in the UFC right now. He is currently on a four-fight win streak and has been beaten by only one man in the UFC. That man is Francis Ngannou, who holds two wins over ‘Razor’, the only two losses of Blaydes’s career. However, Blaydes has still risen to title contention.
He is the favorite to beat Derrick Lewis this weekend and is being linked to a possible Jon Jones fight. Blaydes commented on Jones challenging for the UFC Heavyweight title and whether he would face ‘Bones’ for the title if they both won their fights.

“I think I have a great argument and that’s my job, my focus right now is to build my argument up for why I should be next. Even though it’s going to be Jon, I still have my job to do. I still have to take out Derrick and if me and Jon end up fighting? Ngannou beats Stipe, then Jon beats Ngannou, and okay.
I could envision myself waiting around and waiting to see how things turn out and I could also see myself like I like to make money, I like to stay active. I like to build my skills. So, I can also see the possibility of taking on another fight.”

Curtis Blaydes: Could he beat Jon Jones?
Curtis Blaydes is one of the best wrestlers in the heavyweight division and could be a tough matchup for the former light-heavyweight champion. While Jones is known to be one of the best takedown defenders in the UFC, he hasn’t really been out-wrestled by someone weighing 265 pounds.

But, as ‘Bones’ is building his body up to take on fighters like Blaydes, it would be an interesting matchup. Jones’s wealth of experience and versatility would definitely make him a favorite.

Anyway, a possible Jones-Blaydes fight needs a lot of things to happen in a particular way, so this may not be a very realistic matchup in 2021 at least.
