‘DC’ has always worn multiple hats even when he was fighting. He serves as a commentator and an analyst in the UFC and is at Fight Island for the same reason. In a recent interview with Helen Yee, Daniel was asked what moment in his career he was the proudest of.
He replied, “Uhh, it’s a number of things you know, Anytime you win the UFC championship and you get the adoration of the crowd. And you get the belt wrapped around you by Dana White…. It always stands out above all. But I remember making the Olympic team and getting to hug my mom…..Because I’m from Louisiana right, we don’t make Olympic teams. We don’t become world champions.”
