Paulo Costa has been facing the brunt of MMA fans for his performance against Israel Adesanya. Costa has faced relentless mockery for his sub-par performance against ‘Izzy‘ and for not backing up his talk.

Costa did not help matters when he put out a video calling Adesanya “human trash” for his vulgar celebrations following the stoppage. ‘Borrachinha’ demanded an immediate re-match, which did not sit well with fans and pundits alike.

Paulo Costa finds an unlikely supporter in Darren Till

At this point, it seems as though everyone is busy trolling the Brazilian fighter. However, Darren Till believes that Costa will be back. Till shared Costa’s recent Instagram post, alongside the caption, “Thank you all for the support.

This was followed by a comment that said, “It’s crazy how MMA fans are quick to bash a fighter. Don’t forget these guys are doing something that 99% of us would never do in our lifetime. Gotta give the man props for not making excuses and congrats to Israel for the huge win.”

Till shared the post with a caption that read “One loss and peoples think your done, Costa will be back!” Paulo Costa indulged in trash talk and made a lot of claims that he could not back up. Against Adesanya, his offense was nearly non-existent. His first title shot did not go as planned, as he lasted all of two rounds against the champion and was handed his first loss ever in the sport.

However, in teammate and two-division champion Henry Cejudo, he has someone who has been in the same position and he can take inspiration from. Cejudo also fell short against ‘Mighty Mouse’ in his first title shot. However, he built himself back up and could take the belt away, which is what Costa will also aim for.

‘Borrachinha’ is still only 29 and has a lot of fight left in him. He is one of the most talented and exciting fighters in the division. It will be foolish of fans to count him out just yet.
