Darren Till is quite a frank man, and he put that side of him on full blast on his latest appearance on Ariel Helwani’s podcast on ESPN. However, he spoke quite candidly about Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya moving up to Light Heavyweight to challenge Jan Blachowicz for that title.

“Izzy can do whatever he wants. He’s the champion. He’s beat the best I’m the division apart from me, I am the best. But he can do what he wants. He can move up, he can go down.”

Till also says that he believes Izzy would beat Jan for the Light Heavyweight Title but would fall if he fought Jones.

“I don’t think he beats Jon Jones, I don’t think he has the tools. I like Jon, I am a Jon Jones fan. I think Jones did wrong when he was tweeting while Khabib was winning like I’m the guy. I obviously know what his thoughts are, but I think he should have left it.”

Darren Till making good points

Jon Jones is in the position he is in for a very good reason. He has dominated the sport for years. However, kings do fall in the UFC. It seems like Israel Adesanya is the one that is up next to try and dethrone Jones.

Obviously, Jones has certain physical advantages over Izzy which are hard to not consider. But if Izzy feels confident enough to step into the cage with Jones, that shouldn’t be an excuse he uses later.

In terms of the G.O.A.T. conversation and everything Jones said about Khabib Nurmagomedov, Darren Till is correct. Jones didn’t need to go ballistics on Twitter trying to convince people to look at him as the greatest. Beating Izzy will definitely be another feather in his cap. If Khabib isn’t active, and Jones stays active, Jones can reclaim this position. However, there will always be two sides to this debate.

The best for all fighters is to not engage in this conversation and just be focused on proving it inside the cage. Jones has done it, Khabib is doing it, and Adesanya is calling his shots to do it.
