The UFC has had an extremely challenging year. The pandemic has thrown a wrench in the promotion’s plans. However, Dana White and his team marched on and ensured that the fights continued, no matter what. To finish off 2020, the company put together an extremely stacked event for its last PPV event. Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno headlined a card that was stacked all the way to the early prelims.

Fight fans could not have asked for a better card. The card had everything, from submissions to insane knockouts to an insane five-round slugfest between two of the toughest fighters at 125-pounds. The one that thought most MMA fans had after the result was- rematch!

Dana White concurred.

Dana White lauds praise on Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno

In the post-fight press conference, John Morgan asked Dana White when is the rematch. To which Dana replied, “2021, I mean I don’t know we gotta give these guys some time off but you absolutely, positively do that rematch. That’s another fun fight for us to look forward to in 2021.”

When asked if Dana White was willing to wait around for Moreno to heal up or if he would give Garbrandt or TJ Dillashaw, a title shot while Moreno recovers, the UFC president said, “No, these guys just fought twice in three weeks. They got nothing but time. They can take as much time as they need.”

The fight between Moreno and Figueiredo was arguably one of the best fights of this year, and probably one of the best fights ever in flyweight history. Both men had their opponent in trouble at various points during the fight.

The fight was closely contested, and both fighters inflicted immeasurable damage. It looked as though Moreno had a broken arm but said he did not during the press conference. Figueiredo was hospitalized after the fight.
