Israel Adesanya will finally make his much-anticipated move to the light-heavyweight division at UFC 259. The UFC middleweight champion will fight Jan Blachowicz as he looks to be one of the very few men to become a two-division champion in the history of the promotion.

‘Stylebender’ had been going back and forth with former 205lbs champ Jon Jones about a potential fight between the duo. But he is making his move up to the light-heavyweight division only after ‘Bones’ relinquished his belt to move to the heavyweight division. Former UFC welterweight champion Woodley didn’t seem to like Adesanya’s approach and criticized him for his actions.

I thought he had some business to doing in a middleweight division and he was gonna wait. And the second Jon Jones moved to heavyweight he moved up to 205,” said Woodley while talking to Helen Yee.

I don’t even I can’t even think past the fact that he completely said he was not going to go up to 205 and face Jon Jones. If you the best if somebody asked me to go and fight Bisping, I’m doing it,” he added.

I think he should do whatever he wants to do but don’t go around talking crap about Jon and to Jon and now Jon says, let’s go in then you’re like no, I’ll get you in two years. But when later Jon go up now you have, I mean..” ‘The Chosen One‘ concluded.

Will Israel Adesanya vs Jon Jones ever happen?

If ‘Stylebender’ is successful at capturing his second UFC belt at UFC 259, he will create history. But it’s easier said than done, as Blachowicz is a powerhouse and has the potential to knock anybody out on the roster. If Adesanya can overcome the test remains to be seen.

Jones, on the other hand, is bulking up for his move to the heavyweight division. ‘Bones‘ will potentially fight for the championship upon his divisional debut which is expected to happen later this year. So, the chances of the super-fight happening seem very slim at the moment unless Adesanya decides to fight Jones at heavyweight.

However, ‘Stylebender’ should solely focus on the task in hand. He needs to get past Blachowicz first to all other possibilities to open. The Polish is not someone he should overlook at any cost.

What did you make of Woodley’s comments about Adesanya? Will ‘Stylebender’ ever fight ‘Bones‘?
