Cory McKenna vs Kay Hansen was the first fight on the key card at UFC Vegas 14. The fight was an interesting strawweight bout between two of the most exciting talents in the UFC. The 21-year-old fighters displayed skills and maturity way beyond their years in an excellent toe-to-toe fight.
Kay Hansen made her UFC debut with a win over Jinh Yu Frey in June. ‘The Hobbit’ on the other hand represented yet another promising talent from Dana White’s Contender Series. She made her debut in the promotion with a win over Crystal Vanessa Demopoulos.
In the fight, McKenna landed 156 strikes with an accuracy of 63%. She also landed 57 significant strikes with an accuracy of 42%. McKenna also was very close to securing a rear-naked choke on her opponent. The fight was extremely closely contested and one of the best fights, if not the best fight on the card.
