Dustin Poirier secured arguably two of the biggest wins of his career at UFC 257 and UFC 264. ‘The Diamond’ is now 2-1 against his rival and the sport’s biggest star in Conor McGregor. The fight between the two men ended in a way that no one would have expected, as ‘The Notorious’, who snapped his leg in half, could not continue the fight past the first round.

Prior to the fight, Jake Paul shared videos on social media of him getting a custom chain made for himself. The chain featured a pendant of McGregor knocked out on the canvas following his loss to Poirier in January. Paul labeled it the ‘Sleepy McGregor’ chain and revealed it cost him a whopping $100,000. After ‘The Diamond’s win, Paul said that he would ship the pendant over to Dustin Poirier, as he was more deserving of it.

After his win at UFC 264, Poirier is all but set to face champion Charles Oliveira in his next fight. This will be the second time fighting for UFC gold for ‘The Diamond’. In his last attempt, he came up short against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 242. He will aim to rectify his undisputed title fight record against ‘Do Bronx’.

The fight between the two men will be extremely interesting, given that they have a combined 30 finishes and 29 Fight Night bonuses between them. ‘Do Bronx’ and ‘The Diamond’ will meet in their combined 56th UFC bout. When they do collide, it will set a new record for most shared octagon appearances in a title fight.
