One of the key points in accepting this fight for Dustin was the donation Conor McGregor promised. This was when the fight was being promoted as a charity exhibition fight. Poirier has spoken about whether Conor and he have agreed on an amount and what he will do with the donation.

“I’m not sure. I take Conor as a man who does what he says he’s going to do. I’m sure after the fight he will donate to the charity, we will talk about it after the fight. I’m excited and thankful for that, it’s gonna help a lot of people out. I have good plans for the money and I think with that amount of money we can do exactly what I had planned from the beginning.

“From the beginning, I have always wanted to open up a gym or some after school place where combat sports was taught. Let these kids burn off some energy, get them off the streets, and teach them self defense. It’s going to be good man.”

Conor’s last fight was more of a showcase against Cowboy Cerrone. But, McGregor showed that he still has otherworldly ability.

This will be the first time we see Conor fighting at Lightweight since his loss to Khabib in 2018. Meanwhile, this is the division Dustin Poirier has been dominating in his absence.

Hopefully, Conor makes a donation worthy of the stature of his name. We saw Khabib do that after his fight with Dustin, so maybe Conor will follow suit and make a handsome donation.
