Henry Cejudo bid farewell to the world of MMA with no prior announcement. Even the most ardent fan did not see his retirement coming. The King of Cringe announced his retirement soon after an emphatic win over former bantamweight champion and arguably the greatest mixed martial artist of all time, Dominick Cruz.

In the process, Cejudo did not only become one of the two fighters in the history of UFC to defend title belts across two divisions, but also etched his name in the history books by becoming the first fighter to earn a stoppage win over the bantamweight legend.

Cejudo’s manager and Dominance MMA CEO Ali Abdelaziz hinted that the former dual champion could come out of retirement in 2021. Needless to say, Cejudo only has one request from the UFC.

Show me the money, that’s it. I got my legacy, my legacy is written. Everybody knows what I am after. I am out here chasing gold but I am out here chasing greens now. I am sorry, that’s what I want. I’ve got all the gold. I want green.” Cejudo said in a recent interview given to MMA journalist Marc Raimondi.

Additionally, he also made a special appearance on All Elite Wrestling and hinted that he has also been offered a deal from the WWE and the AEW.

“That’s why I am doing real estate. That’s why I am co-hosting Mike Tyson Hot Boxing with Mike, got a potential Dancing With the Stars for next season, WWE, AEW, they are both knocking. And of course the UFC and Ryan Garcia, there’s a lot of things in the works. It’s the opportunity cost, I am trying to do what’s best for me.” Cejudo said.

Henry Cejudo and Ryan Garcia have also had their fair share of back and forth on social media, with the former champion calling out the lightweight prospect for a scrape inside the boxing ring. With notable victories over the likes of Demetrius Johnson, Dominick Cruz, Marlon Moraes, and TJ Dillashaw, Henry Cejudo has cemented himself as arguably one of the greatest mixed martial artist of all time.

Needless to say, Cejudo deserves a bigger paycheck, and his return is not too far away if UFC is willing to pay the right price.
